Help! I need to use R

Code: CIC-006, Offered By: Computing Skills for Research

To enable researchers to make an assessment of whether they want to use R

A familiarity with Windows environment and a willingness to use the Internet.

This is a taster session aimed at those who are complete novices who think they need to use R, a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. R’s low financial cost and wide range of statistical routines makes it attractive to many researchers. However, users need to be happy to write computer code and the open development policy of sub-packages means that there is not the quality control of commercial packages. This workshop aims to allow people to understand the strengths and weaknesses of R for themselves.
