Promoting yourself well at interviews outside academia

This session will help you to understand the interview practices used by employers in industry, public services and other non–academic environments. As well as helping you to prepare for conventional ‘competency-based’ interviews the session will provide an introduction to other approaches used by employers, such as telephone interviews and ‘strengths-based’ selection methods. The session will help you to prepare and present yourself convincingly and confidently at interview. There will be an opportunity to deal with any concerns you may have about the interview process.
